Before beginning, please make sure that your amp's WiFi is fully configured and connected to the internet. For more information on setting up your amp's Wifi, click here.
 

Important!
Mustang GT amplifiers running a firmware version below 1.3.5 will first need to run an update using the Mustang GT Firmware Patch Utility. Click here for more information.

 

Standard WiFi Update

1. Turn the amplifier off. 

2. Press and hold down the Encoder knob with the amplifier still off. 

3. While still holding the Encoder down, turn the amp back on.

Continue holding for at least 5 seconds, then release. You will see the amp "Searching For Updates".

Please do not unplug or disturb the amp and its network connection during this process.

If updates are discovered, the amp will auto initiate the download and you sill see "Downloading Updates".

Next, you will see "Applying Updates".

If successfully updated, the screen will read "Amplifier Update Complete Please Restart Your Amp".

If your amp is already up-to-date with the latest version of the firmware, you will see "No Updates Available Please Restart Your Amp". 

4. Turn your amp Off and On again. Your amplifier firmware is now up to date.

 

Check Current Firmware

1. Press the "Menu" button.

2. Use the Encoder to navigate to "EQ & Amp Settings".

(or simply "About This Amp" on older firmware versions)

3.  Scroll down to "About This Amp" and press down on the Encoder to select it.

4. Your amplifier will now display your current firmware under "Version".

In the event that your amp is accidentally powered off or interrupted during a firmware update, a failure message may occur that reads: "Amplifier Update Failed."

If this occurs, the amp will require a full firmware update as described below.
 

Full Firmware Update

1. Turn the amplifier off.

2. Press and hold the Encoder button and the left middle soft-key simultaneously.

3. Holding both buttons, turn your amplifier on

Continue holding for at least 5 seconds and then release.

*This can take considerably longer than a standard firmware update. Do not interrupt this process.
